Lubricant
Analysis: Lubricant analysis can
be your first line of defense against premature equipment
failure. MRT Laboratories can put together a highly
effective test program for your lubricants and coolants.
Microscopic
Particle Analysis: MRT Laboratories
has the equipment and experienced personnel to microscopically
analyze particulates present in your lubricants. In
most cases, we can tell you not only what particulates
are present, but also where they came from and how
to prevent them from reoccurring. This analysis is
particularly useful when monitoring a known or suspected
wear situation.
Filter
Analysis: Problems with your filters
prematurely clogging? MRT Laboratories can analyze
the filter media and determine what is the cause of
the clogging. We use spectrographic, physical, and
microscopic analysis to determine the source of the
problem, and help determine how to prevent it from
reoccurring.
Deposit
Analysis: Deposits, scales, and
sludges often form in many lubrication systems and
can be very detrimental to the efficient operation
of the equipment. MRT Laboratories can analyze these
deposits and help determine their source, as well
as how to prevent them in the future.

Coolant
Analysis: Excessive heat will
destroy your lubricant and lead to equipment failure.
It only stands to reason, then, to monitor your coolants
as well as your lubricants. Whether your coolants
are glycol mixtures, water, or hydrocarbon fluids,
they should be monitored for proper inhibitor levels,
corrosion products, degradation products, and contaminants.
MRT Laboratories can design a coolant analysis program
specific to your equipment needs.
Refrigerant
Analysis: Often the cause of refrigeration
equipment problems is the refrigerant itself. MRT
Laboratories has a refrigerant analysis package designed
to detect those problems and prevent major damage
to your equipment.
Grease
Analysis: MRT Laboratories can analyze
used greases for moisture content, wear particles, acid
build-up, and spectrographic metals. This analysis is
most useful in root cause failure analysis of greased
bearings and not recommended for routine monitoring
as a representative sample is difficult to obtain.
Diesel
Fuel Analysis: Our Diesel Fuel Analysis
package consists of corrosion and contaminant metals,
Viscosity, Flash Point, Copper Strip Corrosion, Karl
Fischer Water Titration, Specific and API Gravities,
Sediment by Filtration, and a microscopic visual check
for algae and gum. If the sample results show a higher
than 1A Copper Strip Corrosion, we conduct a Sulfur
analysis to ensure the fuel meets low sulfur requirements.
MRT
Laboratories is fully equipped and staffed with experienced
personnel to take the guesswork out of your analytical
preventive/predictive maintenance programs. Contact
us for assistance in setting up an entirely new program,
revising your current one, or for any of the analytical
services we provide. Our goal is to help you Maximize
your equipment Run Time.
